The YouTube Insurgency is over, finished, defeated and as it will be remembered, LAUGHABLE. The Internet has done its job, and everyone has grown so tired of reading how outrageous the conduct of this war has been, that they have simply forgotten about the war, and most have not even noticed the real setbacks that have come to pass in the interim. Is your door locked? You had better get up and check.
These kids today, the Nintendo Generation with their Transformer toys, their Internet, their Jessica Simpson and their Bon Jovi and their Britney Spears... Well, they're done. They are all wage-slaves now. They thought they had an insurgency going, but it fizzled, just as the planners said it would. Their Daily Kos and their WhatReallyHappened.com are still slugging away in the dark not knowing half what they should be aiming at, but to what end, if the insurgency is done? And it is done.
It is all very entertaining in a sick sort of way. The whole group, this whole generation has been sucked into a whirlwind of sidestepping, head fakes, low interest home loans, credit cards, cell phones, high speed Internet and they have been YouTubed into a discredited, discombobulated, minor disturbance on a Saturday night that went away all on its own accord because they had to get up early the next day to walk the dog, both of them, and then go to work.
I'm sorry kids, but it is over. You never had a chance of course. You twerps have been so strung out on 2 Liter Pepsi, pizza, and Ecstasy and some of you Oxycontin so long you never had any chance of organizing any real insurgency. John Brown found out, slaves do not revolt. And wage-slaves do not revolt either. It has just been one of those little-tifts kind of insurgencies that has not a chance in the world of gaining any traction, or even any chance of identifying the problems at the root of a cause worth fighting anyway.
And, those stupid soldier friends of yours signed up for what they are taking on for Big Oil, and really, they are getting what they deserved for not being as socially Darwinist smart as you anyway, you in your $200 grand condo, the forty-five mile commute, and your new Saab with 200k on the odometer, and you have payments to make right? And student loans to pay off, right? And, damn now your wife tells you she is a lesbian, right? Well, that is cool, Dude.
You suck. You are pigs at the trough. And, well... Someone had to say it. You really suck. What can you do about it? Maybe you could burn your degree? Or, I guess you can write a really-really-really nasty comment about this article, one maybe with a really-really-really nasty and animated frowning emoticon? The YouTube Insurgency has been waylaid. The kids take your candy away from you. You've bought into just about every get-ahead gimmick that has been tossed to you just as if you were dogs following the butcher truck. Oh, yeh? Oh, yeh? Oh, this guy makes me sooooo mad! So? You know, most educated people spell hypocracy, H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y. And when they say, Your going to get it now, the spell "your" the other way with an apostrophe. And you know what else? When I went to college, they did not give out degrees in hair dressing or, interior decorating. Gee... I wonder how they got their hair done then? And, how the heck did they get their interior decorating done? Morons!
So, take a good look around, you fooled fools. Because, during your whole lifetime you are going to hear just how wonderful everything is going, the economy is good, the environment is getting cleaned up, crime is being fought effectively, and scientists are on the brink of building wonderful inventions and curing everything from acne to cancer, and another Congressman just got busted for screwing kids in the butt! So, that will never happen again. But, as I said, take a good look around. Feast your eyes. It will never again be as good as it is today, because that's the general trend and none of you today even has a clue about how to turn it around.
Everyone advertises against their weakness. America is a nation of immoral liars. Haven't you figured that out from the number of times you lied on your resume? The whole country is run on lies, from your pedophile priests, school teachers and Boy Scout leaders, to your Ivy League universities that cost $48 grand a year, and straight off to that shrink your wife ended up falling in love with, Miss What's-She-Stuffing? Ah, she has a good supply of the wonder-meds to keep her happy. You had better hope she does not come back, because that doctor interned at the White House and she has a terrific case of venereal warts. Oh. I didn't know you had already been afflicted. Well, good luck with that!
You know, this is a great country. It is not your country any more, but it is a great country. All the foreigners the government keeps coming across the border just love it! You know, when I was a kid, you had to be able to speak English reasonably well to be a doctor, or even to get a reasonably well paying job, because it just was reasonable, if you are going to pay someone good money, they ought to be able to speak the language, if not with a minimum of an accent.
The Mexicans lived in Mexico then too. And, the minimum wage in purchasing power was more than a Ph.D. gets today! Actually, when I started work, there wasn't a minimum wage. We didn't need one. The country was cleaner, and the dog shit did not clutter the streets and your nostrils in the spring, there were no homeless, there was a two cent deposit on a soda pop bottle, and you could buy another with five of them, because a soda pop cost a dime a piece then. The fat girl in class maybe weighed a hundred and forty pounds, that's 140 not 240 like your homecoming queens today, and no one I knew had a tattoo, but a few Pacific Front Second World War veterans, and, on their shoulders! But hey! To each his own, right?
It is like I said, look around. It won't get any better than this for you. That much is guaranteed. It is all down hill from here on out, and speeding up rapidly. You know what they say. If you are going to be really rich, it is best to do it in a poor country, and that is the goal today. (Did anyone ever tell you that people who do not have health insurance actually live longer than the people who do? Go figure, if you can figure without a calculator.) Lies! All lies, you freakin' fools!
And forget about the YouTube Insurgency, because Nancy Pelosi and her troop of scoundrels in Congress you keep sending those emails to, they are not going to end this war for you. She has five, count 'em 1-2-3-4-5, kids and a dozen or so grand kids she is busy setting up for life, so she does not want to see the war end, or stop the illegals from pouring over the border and keeping your wages down either. You just keep punching that time clock and translating for that Indian fellow who works in the cubicle next to yours. You might want to ask him about India, if he lived in Calcutta, because that is where the country you live in is headed. Oh, it will be a very rich Calcutta, but Calcutta just the same. All those fertile Nancies are going to make the whole country, shoulder to shoulder, one on top of another, like the Black Hole of Calcutta soon enough. We need a couple more billion people to keep the economy growing! Get me five hundred more Mexicans who will work down there in that greasy hole!

Just stay inside, stuff your face some more, sit in front of the Internet machine, or the Wii, or listen to your iPod... You might want to see if cable is playing Star Wars again, or maybe there are some old Star Trek episodes on, on one of the 240 channels, or maybe the new Discover Magazine is in the mail box?
There's always the porn channel, now that the wife is gone.

unfortunately, the author made some good points. he seems to be writing from frustration, but it comes across as anger, hatred, meanspirtedness, etc. I hope the message wasnt lost because of it.

Untill I stated linking anciant tablets, politics, science and I came to the conclution that There is not much to do but: Wake up as many souls as you can. Childish bitterness. How sad. Is this commentator going to DC on January 27th? I'll be there! I was there back in 2003, same week!
I had to deal with the Cold War, the Vietnam war, THREE housing busts, one of which left me living in a TENT. With a young child.
And guess what? We lived just fine. We read books with kerosene lamps, we made our own board games, we played chess, my son's work in school was so superior, his principal said, everyone should live without electricity!
And the terror of not living the super-duper life is... NOT SCARY AT ALL! I used to say, 'running water is a leak in the tent roof or someone carrying two buckets as fast as possible.'
I used to melt snow for washing dishes and clothes! I stayed up during blizzards to keep the snow off the roof of the tent! When a cat fell through during a storm, I had to patch it in the pouring rain and lightning!
I was hit by lightning once, too!!!! For ten years, we lived in a tent on a mountain. We used a sled dog to drag groceries up the mountain in winter. We grew food in summer. We went hunting with guns, I got really good at disembowling deer or squirrels (yummmmy).
People are filled with gloom and doom because they are spoiled. Much of humanity lives like I lived for many hard years. I will always remember those years as a joyous time! I got up at 4 am in winter to heat the place using wood I gathered in the forest. I baked bread I made and my childrenn would rise to the sweet smell of fresh bread before eating it with the honey from our bee hives, then off down the mountain on sleds to the bus stop!
Sigh. Don't be scared! Humans are amazingly adaptive. They change so easily! Even a post-Hubbert Peak time can be lovely. I still chop wood, I still bake bread in my Victorian wood stove. I still carry water in buckets. And I am strong for it all.

The funny thing about Womak's comment above is that Don Robertson probably knows that he's been made a fool of, but can't bring himself to the point of admitting as much. Robertson's EBS [Emotional Belief System] is far too advanced, he cannot accept the idea that Anne Frank's diary is a forgery/fraud. He cannot bring himself to acknowledge that the holocaust story is questionable for exactly the same reason 9-11 is questionable, there are many questions and no forthcoming answers.
Robertson reminds me of the alcoholic father that gambles away his paycheck and then blames his wife when ther's no food on the table and blames his kids for the holes in their shoes.

The reporter who exposed CIA drug dealing in the Iran/Contra affair committed suicide after freaking out over losing his house. 'I can't live in a tent!' he said.

Please remember, people have gone through some terrible times. But no time is totally terrible. There is always life, it flows within our very veins. It comes from our hearts. It is run by our souls.
Once, a premie baby lambie struggled to live. It was -20 degrees, a blizzard when she was born. I sat in front of the fire, holding her to my chest. All night long. At dawn, she gave me her last bleat and died in my arms. Yet her heart beat so desperately. She wanted to live.
And she did and still does...in my memory. And this is the other power you must tap. Love and memory.

And tracking the doings of our ruling elites can destroy one's will. They pray to the Devil that is Death, the Hangman. The gory hangings they just sponsored in Iraq are depressing and nauseating and they don't give a hoot, they actually enjoy this.

Most people are so trusting, they get bitter when they are double crossed. Fighting back isn't easy, it usually means making sacrifices. And these come from within, not without.
The more one can live without, the stronger one is! They depend on people feeling helpless, they want us to HATE EACH OTHER. Turning against the younger generation is foolish and dangerous.
My own children are this generation. And they aren't dumb. They know more than we imagine. And they are aware of what lies ahead. They will find a way out, this is their natures. I have watched them cope with all sorts of things we didn't have to worry about when their age.
Hating them for enjoying life is plain silly. When the emergency comes, most will rise to it as most have in past generations. Each generation has their moment when they must stand up and be counted.
This war isn't time for that...yet. Unlike Vietnam when many faced being sent to their deaths, there was tremendous motivation to resist the elite's plans. And so there will be, again.
Being mad about this is a sign of creeping despair that is misplaced. I worked from 1966 to 19 f*cking 74 organizing against the Vietnam war. At no point did I stop and say, the hell with this. I kept on and on.
So we must today. Come to DC on January 27th! I'll be there!
Time to stand up and yell, stand up and be proud. Not complain on the web from the safety of home. Did I tell you about the times I got arrested, beaten up, shot at back then? On the FBI's list of 'bad people'? That was over 30 years ago.
I could NEVER hold regular jobs after that. And guess what?

A Hippopotamus named "Diane."

Imagine this - seriously, close your eyes and imagine the following. Your at work and the boss introduces you to a new employee named Jeff. The odd thing is, the boss introduces Jeff to you as a Hippopotamus, and acts as if there isn’t anything even slightly unusual about this introduction. Jeff smiles and tells you that he’s happy to meet you and invites you over to dinner to meet his bull [Male Hippopotamus] and his calves [baby Hippopotamuses].
How would you respond? Seriously, how would you respond, would you think Jeff and the boss absolutely insane? Would you really? Here you have a man that introduces another man to you as a Hippopotamus - he does so as if there isn’t anything slightly unusual about this arrangement, in fact, he insists that you refer to Jeff as a Hippopotamus and if you don’t, he’ll view you as intolerant and will probably fire you. Jeff himself indicates that if you don’t refer to him as a Hippopotamus it’ll hurt his feelings - after all he fervently believes he’s an aquatic mammal. But it doesn’t end there, imagine too that Jeff and the boss expect you to refer to Jeff as a Hippopotamus even in Jeff’s absence, when he isn’t present - they expect you to refer to him as a Hippo when speaking about him with your co-workers. Sound strange? Not really.
Many fools embrace this insanity on a daily basis and don’t think for a moment that employers aren’t involved also - in fact they are the primary cause of the problem. If a “transsexual” works with you, you can bet your last dollar that above mentioned insanity is practiced at your workplace. A human born a male cannot ever become a female - it is just as impossible as a man “becoming” a Hippopotamus period! A human being born without a womb, without fallopian tubes and ovaries is a male. A human being born with a penis and testicles is a male. You can do whatever you like, you can mutilate the human body in any manner you choose, you cannot “give” a man a womb, and ovaries anymore than you can “give” a woman a working penis and testicles.
What I am saying here is simple - if you work with a transsexual and refer to him as a her or he as a she, or refer to her as a him or she as a he, you aren’t hip, you aren’t cool, you aren’t “tolerant,“ you are mentally ill. There is no difference whatsoever in referring to a man as a woman or referring to a human being as a Hippopotamus - none whatsoever!
I had the opportunity to work with such a person a couple of years ago, when I was first introduced to “Diane,” I thought my employer had made a mistake concerning his name, because the man was so obviously male that it would have been impossible, or so I thought, to believe otherwise. The only thing “feminine” about “Diane,” was the relatively generous amount of breast tissue he sported, something not altogether unusual in some males, especially in this day and age - other than that he looked about as female as Clint Eastwood.
As time went by, I mentioned “Diane” [I only refer to him as Diane, because I never learned his real name] to some of my co-workers and to my chagrin, complete disgust would be a more apt term, I discovered that more than 90% of them believed him to be a woman. At first I couldn’t believe it, I thought they were just “playing” the “tolerance.” game, but sure enough, the fools actually believed that “Diane,” was a woman. I asked them to explain his adams apple, I asked them to explain his five o’clock shadow, I asked them to explain how the hell they could ever believe that a woman could be so damned ugly in a masculine kind of way. I questioned their sanity. They were incensed, they couldn’t believe that I could be so insensitive as to refer to “Diane,” as a male, even is he, err I mean she is a male, what difference does it make, doesn’t he have the right to be who he wants to believe, blah, blah, blah. NO! “Diane” does not have the right to be who he wants to be if I am expected to play along - “Diane,” can go home and play a Hippopotamus for all I care, but I will not play a role in this insane charade, he, nor my employer has a right to expect me to engage in their delusional beliefs either - if they choose to embrace absolute insanity that’s their business, but I will not go along - I AM NOT CRAZY!

While sixteen Google images appeared -twelve were of people attending artificial intelligence symposiums. The first thing that stood out in the pictures was that most of the participants were taking it sitting down.
Robots are increasingly becoming humanlike as people get rigid. Seems cute in an Oz’s Tin man way, but the twain shall meet someday –perhaps sooner than you imagine.
Actually, we’re already overlapping; No eye contact sealed in on “freeways”. Can’t get a person on the phone for venting complaints? That’s an old problem. Now it’s depersonalized elec-tronic-chatter between cubed drones in the same room. -way off the earth, rocking in windowless buildings.
Calculating kids seldom step out of cybercaves; for fear that, a yellowcake flake of acid snow, from the falling skies will rust their tongues. When they do, they plug in as Pod people, to feed off music of irregular beats with strangers on subways –rather than having actual conversations.
These days just about every body part is replaceable. Even the Vice President has artificial heart valves. Machines could be used to help us make wise decisions, but many of us let them decide. Swirling slots in Vegas, hypnotize many that would be better off watching whirling dervishes. Artificial systems help doctors diagnose medical concerns. You can play twenty questions over the Internet in intel-ligence experiments. Systems learn from us in vast ways as we feed them more information.
Robots powered by speech recognition software, recognize when humans are happy or sad and eerily “pretend to care”, with corresponding facial expressions, helping even people labeled autistic become comfortable. Robots can assess hostage situations and disarm bombs while delivering a pizza. However, at what point will the gollem spirits began running a new lottery of whom gets to live or die?
“Google News” claims that their information results are “com-piled solely by computer algorithms”. Then who designed those algorithms? Have they been in existence since time immemorial? And do they fine-tune themselves? At night does a robot mouse dust and vacuum the nano-nuts and bolts of the Googleplex termi-nals into absolute purity? I’m having a nightmare that it’s termi-nally daytime for robots. Perhaps if I breathe deep with my own lungs and count five, my psychotic reaction will taper off.
Doctors in our Country have systematically institutionalized thousands of patients into mental hospitals than overmedicated them into robotic states for stinking profit. More wars and jails are planned, but with less real rehabilitation opportunities –creating millions of outcasts. These dispossessed could become essential slave labor backup forces in the event the next lines of senseless Iron-man fighters develop glitches. Increased frivolous laws with stricter enforcement and draconian sentences successfully lobbied for, translate into job security for the machine-like penal systems.
Instead of locking prisoners away into subhuman states at record levels, ideal communities could preemptively strike at root causes of “waywardness” by caring more about schools. Funds not invested in prisons could better broaden “homeland security” by being spent on systems already proven to help student achieve-ment.
And shouldn’t we use caution while screening our children over normal difficulties faced growing out of the age of innocence -before medicating them into something they are not? Who screens the screeners? Vacuous steel-hearted leaders fiddling with low approval ratings? Perhaps a savant metallically inoculated into mathematical beauty could lend the social engineers some thoughts on what’s worth tracking.
A lot of the things that we now take for granted would not exist at all, had past Einstein’s and Edison’s been “fixed” at their first sign of boredom in the classroom. I think I just figured out why Don is so bitter.

I found the commentary to be interesting. It is fraught with assumptions but not all of these assumptions are exactly wrong. Being a baby from 1980, I've watched the end-game brainwashing that has brought us to this point in human history. Granted, I didn't know at the time that that was what I was seeing. The blame issued to my generation is not misplaced but, as later comments reflected, nor is it wholly our own. As part of what I like to call the "end-game generation", those in my age group were doomed to failure from birth. The foundation for the burgeoning police state started with the federal government slowly but surely stepping out of bound. Imposing an income tax on American Citizens who were not in possesion of federal property outside of the states, or were not in dealings with foreign corporations, amounted to the largest heist in all history. Like our federal government, it has grown rampantly out of control. Homosexuality, bi-sexuality, stem cell research, abortion... so what? I do not believe that these are "immoral" because I do not believe that I have such a thorough understanding of the universe to dictate what might be right or wrong to any other being besides myself. We've created god time and time again, we've attributed supernatural experiences and miracles to these gods, and we've sacrificed gods. Once we streamlined these gods down to one and only one, we then codified religion into the heart, mind, and soul of every living being that came into this world thereafter. We traded many gods for many religions. Slowly, but surely, we created morals and mores to fashion societies in whatever fashion was deemed fit by whomever was wielding true influence. This is why we can now eat pork. This is why women can now wear pants. This is why we no longer have slavery. Because pork could kill during that time period, unlike now. Because women were just as likely to be kidnapped, raped, or outright murdered by jealousy as walk down a mountainside, unlike now. Because things needed to be built, and the workforce wasn't there, unlike now. So when someone tells me that something or another is evil because a book tells them so, I smirk. I could write a book. I'm a pretty reasonable and kind person, though no sucker. Let man or woman lie with like. Let them study their stem cells. These might be the forerunners of the re-inventionists. These might be those who will turn back the man made AIDS virus. Through more open thinking, these just might be those who can finally convince the other 'end-gamers' that something is wrong, horribly wrong. That the moon landing was a hoax, and prove it. That Pearl Harbor was a false flag terrorism stunt, and prove it. That September 11th was another false flag terrorism event not only condoned by our own government, but carried out by it, and then prove that. Wake me up, shake me up, break up this vision of the world that I have, which is already so bleary. I live to learn, but play video games because i'm bored. Because where will you be, you who were there for the start of the end? When I pick up arms to march against tyranny and the dampening of humanity in this country and in the whole world, where will you be. More than likely, you'll be standing in the background, remembering what this looked like last time, and how miserable it had turned out. What kind of lives will they lead? Short? Brutal? Unhappy? Anyhow, to be sure, not all 12 billion will be able to live in nice clean places next to the ocean or a mountain lake with a loving family and a fun job and a bright future and a happy retirement where one can skateboard and snowboard and surf and ride cool new bicycles and skydive and hang out with other cool people? So, who's going to get the nod? Best bet is that the world will develop a relatively small group of those who have acquired and sequestered wealth and power and who wish to protect it, and, who will zealously guard it against the billions and billions and billions of people who don't have it and who want it. At least this is the way it seems to have worked throughout history. But I have a modest suggestion: If only these billions and billions who are pregnant with chaotic possibility were really true christians! Why they wouldn't want all that bling that defines living for so many, would they! And there would be no problem, would there! But, alas, I know that suggestion won't work. While it is popular in most Western nations to declare an affiliation with christian values, a simple sampling of the practice of those values as reported by the gospel of Matthew, for example, quickly demonstrates that it is the "belonging" to a common group which is more important than the actual practice of the philosophy. So what's a caring, thoughtful person to do? One, who for whatever reason, finds it boring to live the bling life and who finds it equally boring to be a wage slave, or indeed a slave of any kind. Well, there's always living a christian life. It's not really too hard. The Gospel of Matthew spells it out pretty well. But even that may be too much trouble for a lot of folks. So, what's the solution to the problems of overcrowding and lack of sufficient resources to live a decent life?
Suicide is the easiest and most appealing notion as a solution to the overcrowding and the lack of even a passing chance at living the good life. The relative failure to practice anything resembling christian values, suggests that living a life unconcerned with bling is not something most Westerners would do.
Yes, suicide is the answer. There are any number of ways to do it painlessly without mess or bother. And if you're really cool about it and have a few bucks, you can pre-pay to get buried so your family or friends don't have to pay for it. But that's only common courtesy. Obviously, it's really not necessary.
Now there may be some who find the idea of suicide distasteful and dangerous; mostly those who have lots of bling and a nice place to live near the ocean in a gated community and who can spend their days and nights enjoying the good life. And those who are in power: in commerce, government and religion.
For those folks, slavery is OK. They are slaves to wealth and power and commerce and ritual and it pulls their strings. For others who don't have, but want, they want to become those kinds of slaves and will use overt acts of violence, chaos, death and destruction to get it. A war among slaves, if you will. But, for the truly enlightened, they can eliminate all slave-like behavior and simply go on to where suicide leads them.
And this is the really, really cool part. If they do it as an affirmative gesture of seeking the next level of existence, of learning, of exciting exploration of the unknown, then there are really only two alternatives: they had it wrong and there isn't anything beyond physical existence for a conscious entity, or there is. In the first instance, nothing really matters anyhow, and in the second, well, cool!
Anyhow, I haven't quite worked out all the details, but these thoughts are racing around in my head this morning and I think I will begin work on a small handbook on the wisdom and reason for suicide as a solution to the seemingly intractable problems of overpopulation and the increasing consolidation of wealth and power in the hands of a few with the rest of the billions and billions of people living in squalor, and despair, hunger, disease and lack of education, with no hope of ever climbing out of their overcrowded slave quarters because access to the good life is totally controlled by those who don't want to share it.

Very good points, this is why I refuse to subscribe to cable T.V. despite the fact I have a 50' HDTV (huge mistake). The problem lies in everyone being so unsatisfied with life, and themselves. The worst conditions have been created for our generation (I'm 25) and then they keep telling us everyday how great everything is. If the economy is so great how come everything costs more, and none of my friends are able to save any money? Everyday basic human rights and free speech are being taken away slowly. Then we are told in the media "how free we are". There is so much lies and double speak it is sickening. Then on top of that people who realize manipulation, are "Conspiracy theorists" just because they don't fit into the little brown box everyone else is already in. All this stress that is put on us the "outsiders" can be very hard to live with. But you must not give up yet, there is still lots left to fight for. It is really hard for us, but the best thing to do is keep writing good articles and educate the right people. Also try not to force your views on people who will never understand. Some people will always be sheep, and they deserve that position because they've put themselves in that position.
